The marriage of Mr Herman R. Perske, barrister, Charters Towers, to Miss Emily M. Reeve, third daughter of Mr. James Reeve, of the Telegraph Department, Brisbane, was solemnised at the residence of Mr. C. R. Tideman, Melton Hill, Townsville, on Tuesday afternoon, the 2nd November. Pastor Hohenhaus, from Charters Towers, performed the ceremony, and Mr Hardie, also from Charters Towers, acted as best man. The bride was given away by Mr C. R. Tideman, and wore a handsome dress of rich cream liberty silk, tastefully trimmed wiith accordeon-pleated chiffon, and silver passementerie. She also wore a wreath of orange blossoms. The travelling dress was of fine navy blue cloth, tailor-made, with canary shot silk, vest, and white sailor hat with navy blue band.

After the ceremony refreshments, in the form of champagne and wedding cake, were partaken of. The wedding presents were very handsome and numerous.

Mr and Mrs Perske left for their home in Charters Towers by the evening train.

The above was extracted from The North Queensland Register (Townsville, Queensland) published Wednesday 10 November, 1897, Page 6.
