Only the Immediate relatives of the bride and bridegroom were present at the C.E.B.S. chapel, Toowoomba on Thursday, April 12, when Betty Jean, younger daughter of Mrs. Fraser, of ‘Greystonelea,’ Kingaroy, and the late Mr. Harold Livingston Fraser, was married to William James Daventry, of “Araluen,” Chinchilla, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. James Clarence Edgeworth Webb, of 59 Curzon Street, Toowoomba, and fomerly of “Nerrowin,” Dalby. Canon Warner Shand officiated at the ceremony, which, was fully choral.

The chapel was beautifully decorated with huge bowls of hydrangeas, gladioli and carnations. The bride, who entered the chapel on the arm of her uncle, Mr. Donald Fraser, of Rockhampton, wore a frock of musty pink crepe and a shady summer felt hat to tone and carried a posy of orchids.

Mrs. Elgin Reid, Canberra, sister of the bride, was matron of honour, and was frocked in a becoming blue crepe costume and pinned a posy of pink roses on her handbag.

Mr. Geoff Poulsen was best man.

After ceremony Mrs. Fraser, who wore a frock of blue faille and pink accessories, entertained the guests at a family dinner party.

The above was extracted from the Dalby Herald of Tuesday, 17 April 1951, page 3, with information added from family tree records.
