Percy (Bubba) Chard was born in about March 1894, having enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force on 10 August 1915, stating his age was 21 years and 5 months.

Bubba was killed in action on 8 August, 1916 in France and is buried at Becourt Military Cemetery, France.
