The following is an extract of from the Thompson-Wilshire Family Tree by E. R. (Ted) Baker, dated 10 November 2020:—

Ethel May HUNGERFORD, born 11 December 1874 - Maitland, New South Wales, daughter of Thomas HUNGERFORD (-- September 1823 - 4 April 1904) and Catherine Mary MALLON (born -- --, 1845 - died 16 October 1927 - Neutral Bay formerly of Ashfield and Baerami, Sydney, New South Wales), his wife.

Ethel married Edwin Hosking WILSHIRE, born 1 May 1870 - “Carrera”, Rose Bay, New South Wales, on 2 August 1894, by the Reverend G. E. Gibbes assisted by the Reverend S. Hungerford (Uncle of the bride) - St. Andrew’s, Summer Hill, New South Wales, Australia

Ethel died 16 June 1953, as the result of an accident and was privately cremated.

Thomas Hungerford was descended from one of the oldest historic English families. Their ancestor, Everard de Hungerford, came over with William the Conqueror and the different branches of the family acquired large etates in England, the principal of which was “Farley”. One ancestor, who settled in Ireland, descended from Lord Walter de Hungerford, who took the Duke of Orleans prisoner at the Battle of Agincourt and was Lord Chamberlain in the court of Edward III.
